Hongkong General Chamber of Commerce.

Hongkong 5th October, 1899.

I am instructed to state that at their meeting on the 3rd instant the Committee of this Chamber unanimously adopted a set of resolutions on the subject of the present high rates charged by the Telegraph Companies for the transmission of messages between the Far East and Europe, copies of which are enclosed herewith.

The Committee will be obliged if His Excellency the Governor will be good enough to forward a copy of these resolutions to the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies.
